Following a historic agreement between Hamas and Israel, with the support of Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and the United States, and backed by the United Nations (UN), U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that Israeli hostages will be released next Monday and that "Gaza will be rebuilt." The president also mentioned that the United States will be involved in the reconstruction process of Gaza after the agreement.
Trump's plan, with its first phase to be signed at 11:00 on Thursday, includes an immediate ceasefire and the start of a regional reconstruction and reconciliation process. The U.S. president aims to be considered for the Nobel Peace Prize for his mediation in the conflict and may travel to Egypt this weekend to participate in the final stages before the release of hostages.
Meanwhile, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have warned that they continue to surround the city of Gaza, stating that "returning is extremely dangerous." "The area north of Wadi Gaza is still considered a dangerous combat zone," warned IDF spokesperson X Avichay Adraee, who also advised Gazans to stay away from the Israeli army. "For your own safety, refrain from returning north or approaching areas where the IDF is stationed and operating anywhere in the Strip, including the south and east of the Strip, until official instructions are issued," he added.
