The war in Ukraine is heading towards a new winter without new peace negotiations taking place. Ukrainian authorities have reported that three people have died and two have been injured in Russian attacks with drones and guided bombs in the Sumy region.

Furthermore, Russian bombings caused damage to the port and energy infrastructure in the Odesa region, leaving five people injured. The attack left 30,000 users without electricity and burned containers with vegetable oil and wood pellets at the port, according to the regional governor.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian drones have caused several fires "in oil and energy facilities" in the Volgograd region. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that their defenses intercepted 19 drones overnight.

Russia Shoots Down 19 Ukrainian Drones

Russian anti-aircraft defenses shot down 19 fixed-wing drones over seven regions of the country last night, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on Thursday on its Telegram channel. According to the military report, nine of the downed aircraft were destroyed over the Volgograd region, located 140 kilometers from the nearest point to the Ukrainian border, as reported by Efe.

"Tonight, the anti-aircraft defense forces of the Russian Ministry of Defense repelled a massive attack of unmanned aerial vehicles on the territory of the Volgograd region," said the governor of the region, Andrei Bocharov, as quoted by his administration's Telegram channel.

The regional authority indicated that the fragments of a drone "partially damaged a boiler room in the municipality of Kotovo" and that there were also "fires in the territory of energy system facilities."

Ukrainian media claimed that the drones attacked a natural gas processing plant in the city of Kotovo. According to the Defense report, the other drones intercepted last night were destroyed over the regions of Bryansk (3), Kursk (3), Belgorod (1), Voronezh (1), Oryol (1), and Saratov (1).

30,000 Users Without Power in Odesa

A Russian drone attack in the Odesa region has left five injured and caused damage to the port and energy infrastructure, leaving 30,000 users without electricity, Reuters reports. It also caused a fire in containers with vegetable oil and wood pellets at the port, according to Governor Oleh Kiper.

Three Dead and Two Injured in Russian Attacks in Ukrainian Sumy Region

Three people have died and two have been injured in Russian drone and bomb attacks in the Sumy region in northern Ukraine, the head of the regional military administration, Oleg Grigorov, reported on Wednesday. "Russia attacked communities in the region with dozens of drone launches and guided aerial bombs," he specified.

Moscow launched an offensive in the Sumy region after successfully repelling Ukrainian forces from the Russian Kursk region in April, of which they had occupied a small part since last year, as reported by Afp.
