"The Secretary of State just handed me a note saying that we are very close to reaching an agreement in the Middle East and that they will need me very soon," Trump stated while participating in a roundtable discussion in front of journalists about his government's fight against the antifascist movement.

Shortly after these images, Trump announced that Israel and Hamas agreed to release all hostages in Gaza and for Israeli troops to withdraw to an agreed-upon line within that Palestinian territory, as part of a "first phase" of their peace plan.

"I am very proud to announce that both Israel and Hamas have approved the first phase of our peace plan," said Trump on his social network Truth Social.

"This means that ALL hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw its troops to an agreed-upon line, as the first steps towards a strong, lasting, and eternal peace," he added.

"With God's help," all hostages will return home, reacted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who will convene his government to approve the agreement.

Meanwhile, Hamas announced that the pact "foresees the end of the war" and asked Trump to ensure that Israel fulfills its part.
