The US military attacked another ship in the Caribbean Sea on Thursday, near the coasts of Venezuela, according to officials cited by US media.
The offensive on a sixth ship, linked to drug trafficking by the Administration of President Donald Trump, was carried out by members of the Southern Command in the Caribbean, according to officials cited by CBS.
The attack was not announced by Trump on his social media as usual, but a group of officials confirmed it and stated that there are survivors, the first reported in this case as in the previous incidents 27 people were killed.
Yesterday, Trump announced that he authorized the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to carry out covert operations and mentioned that he was considering conducting ground operations as he believes they have disrupted maritime drug trafficking.
Since August, the US Southern Command has deployed ships and planes under the justification of combating drug trafficking near the coasts of Venezuela, causing increasing tension between both nations.
