Both leaders reaffirmed a new boost to the strategic alliance between the United States and Japan, focusing on investments, trade, and defense.

The meeting, held a few days after Takaichi took office, included a joint tour of the U.S. aircraft carrier USS George Washington, where they greeted the troops. "Anything I can do to help Japan, we will be there. We are an ally at the highest level," stated Trump, who described Takaichi's appointment as "a great event."

During the visit, an investment framework of up to $550 billion was announced, with Japan directing funds towards projects in the United States, including $100 billion allocated to Westinghouse and GE Vernova for nuclear development. "They are great entrepreneurs. Our country will not let them down," said Trump at a dinner with business leaders at the U.S. embassy, attended by Apple's CEO, Tim Cook.

Both leaders signed an agreement defining this stage as the "golden age of the alliance," reaffirming mutual commitments in economic and security matters. They also signed a second pact on the supply of critical minerals and rare earths, essential for advanced technologies.
