The runoff election will be between Jeannette Jara and José Antonio Kast. Jeannette Jara, the left-wing candidate and from the government (described as the furthest left since Salvador Allende in the 70s), managed to prevail in the first round. With 100% of the votes counted, Jara obtained 26.8% of the total votes.

Her contender, José Antonio Kast, leader of the hard right, reached second place with 23.9% of the votes.

The big surprise of these Chilean electoral results was the third place obtained by Franco Parisi. Parisi, known for his "vague populist center proposal," achieved a remarkable success by obtaining 19.7% of the votes, repeating his third-place position from the 2021 election. This polarization defines the final battle for the Presidency of Chile.
