During the visit, Zelensky was welcomed by the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, with whom he held discussions focused on the conflict in Ukraine and the enhancement of bilateral relations.

One of the most symbolic moments of the meeting was the joint photograph of Sánchez and Zelensky in front of the famous 'Guernica' by Pablo Picasso, exhibited at the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid. This image, laden with historical and emotional significance, emphasizes the message of rejecting war and advocating for peace that both leaders wanted to convey. The painting, a universal symbol of the suffering caused by armed conflicts, served as a backdrop to underscore the importance of international solidarity with Ukraine.

Zelensky's visit to Spain also included meetings with Spanish authorities and the signing of agreements aimed at strengthening cooperation in security, reconstruction, and humanitarian support. With this third visit, Spain reaffirms its commitment to Ukraine at a crucial moment in the conflict.
