Russian anti-aircraft defenses shot down 32 Ukrainian drones last night over eleven regions of the country and the Sea of Azov, as reported on Monday by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
"During the past night, between 11:30 on November 30 and 07:00 (GMT+3) on December 1, the anti-aircraft defense intercepted 32 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones," states the military report published on Telegram.
According to Defense, last night's attack was not concentrated in any specific region and covered a wide geography of the European part of Russia.
Meanwhile, Moscow awaits the arrival of Steve Witkoff, the White House special envoy, who will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin this Tuesday afternoon to advance in the negotiation to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
Witkoff's trip was announced last week by the U.S. President himself, who hinted that his son-in-law and advisor Jared Kushner could be part of the negotiating delegation.
Witkoff's visit to Moscow, a close friend of Trump, comes after a delegation of Ukrainian officials held a meeting this Sunday with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Florida, which Witkoff attended.
Witkoff Meets with Ukrainian Negotiator in Florida Before Traveling to Moscow
U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff is holding talks on Monday in Florida with Ukrainian negotiator Rustem Umerov, a day after negotiations between their delegations. "Umerov and Witkoff are meeting again at this moment," sources familiar with the meeting told AFP, noting that "there are still issues" to discuss.
Rustem Umerov will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday in Ireland, while Witkoff is scheduled to travel to Moscow to meet with Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.
