Although he avoided delving into exactly which points are causing doubts within the German government, his statements hinted at significant discrepancies between the two allies regarding the strategy to be followed in the coming months.

The information was disseminated by the Reuters agency, which captured his words during an appearance at the residence of the British Prime Minister. Merz spoke in front of 10 Downing Street, shortly before meeting with the leaders of Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and France, in a meeting aimed at coordinating positions and reviewing the different diplomatic and military approaches to the conflict.

The Chancellor explained that in Berlin, there is concern about "specific details that appear in documents from the United States," documents that, as he suggested, present proposals or scenarios that require careful analysis. Without providing further details, Merz insisted that these differences must be discussed face to face to avoid misunderstandings and move towards a common position. "That's why we are here," he said, emphasizing that unity among allies is essential at such a delicate moment for Europe and international security.
