The plane, carrying a young patient with severe burns and seven other passengers, crashed while heading to a hospital in Galveston. Rescuers, including Sky Decker, a local yacht captain, quickly responded to the accident site. Decker, who was a few kilometers away, helped rescue a severely injured woman trapped among the plane's debris. The woman was in critical condition, struggling to survive in water mixed with airplane fuel.

The plane was participating in a mission in coordination with the Michou and Mau Foundation, which assists children with severe burns. The accident, involving four Mexican Navy officers and four civilians, is under investigation. Mexican authorities expressed their condolences to the victims' families and continue to work on rescue efforts. This tragic event highlights the risks of medical transport missions in hard-to-reach areas.
