The attack occurred as the convoy was traveling on a railway section located in the Izium area, one of the most affected areas by the conflict.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky shared a short video on his official Telegram channel showing several carriages engulfed in flames after the drone impact. In his message, the president condemned the attack and unequivocally described it as a terrorist act. "In any country, a drone attack on a civilian train would be seen in the same way: exclusively as terrorism," he stated.

As a result of the bombing, several train carriages caught fire, causing scenes of panic among the passengers. At least two people had to be hospitalized with various injuries, according to initial official reports. In addition, four people traveling on the train remain missing, raising fears that the death toll may increase in the coming hours as search and rescue efforts progress.

The attack adds to a new escalation of the Russian offensive against civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, repeatedly denounced by the Kiev government and the international community.
