The collapse was captured in shocking images, showing how the structure gives way and is quickly swept away by the sea.

According to local press, at least four oceanfront homes have collapsed in the town of Buxton since February 1st, creating a wide field of debris along the beach. This situation forced authorities to temporarily close several areas for safety reasons, due to the risk of new collapses.

Local officials confirmed that the affected homes were unoccupied at the time of the collapse, so no injuries have been reported. However, concern among residents and authorities continues to rise.

Reports indicate that the problem has significantly worsened in recent months. Since September 2025, a total of 19 homes have collapsed in this coastal stretch, an area particularly exposed to erosion, rising sea levels, and extreme tides.

Experts warn that these phenomena, linked to climate change, will continue to pose a risk to coastal communities like Buxton, where the ocean is advancing with increasing force.
