Iranian state media reported on Wednesday an attack, for which they blame Israel and the US, on facilities associated with Iran's huge South Pars natural gas field, the world's largest gas field.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard claimed to have launched a missile attack on Tel Aviv in which two people were killed in retaliation for the death of Ali Larijani, described as a "martyr," who was the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, former President of the Parliament, and advisor to the Supreme Leader.
Meanwhile, Israel continues its intense pressure on Lebanon with attacks that, according to them, targeted Hezbollah militants backed by Iran, hitting several apartment buildings in Beirut and killing at least six people.
Israel's attacks have displaced more than 1 million Lebanese - approximately 20% of the population - according to the Lebanese government, which claims that more than 900 people have died. In Israel, 14 people have died from Iranian missile fire during the war, and at least 13 US military members have also died during the conflict.
Iran threatens to attack "enemy infrastructure" after attacks on its gas refineries
The Iranian Army described the US and Israel's attack on gas refineries in the south of the Persian country as a "war crime" and warned that it "will not go unpunished," in addition to threatening to attack "enemy infrastructure that was previously considered safe." This was indicated on Wednesday by the Fars news agency, citing "sources related to the Iranian Army."
The same source added that with these attacks, "the pendulum of war" will change, "moving from limited battles to a large-scale economic war." "From tonight, other red lines have changed. If the enemy thought that with these attacks it could increase pressure on Iran to give in, it fatally miscalculated, as this action has given Iran a crucial card: reciprocity," it warned.
Israel and the United States attacked Iranian gas refineries in the South Pars Energy Special Economic Zone in Asalouye on Wednesday, according to the Iranian Tasnim news agency.
Iranian football team players return to Iran, according to Fars news agency
The Iranian women's football team arrived in Iran on Wednesday through the land border that separates the country from Turkey, according to the Fars news agency.
The agency assures that both the players and the coaching staff entered through the Bazargan border, located in the province of West Azerbaijan, after spending almost a week in Malaysia coming from Australia, where several players sought asylum after the controversy of not singing the national anthem during the Asia Cup in that country, reports Efe.
The news is accompanied by a video apparently showing the delegation's arrival at the Iranian side of the border. The team arrived in Australia before the start of the war in Iran, and during the opening match against South Korea on March 2, they avoided singing the Iranian national anthem, which led to them being labeled as "traitors" by a television station in the Persian country.
Facing the controversy and fears of possible reprisals in Iran, seven members of the team sought humanitarian asylum in Australia, but five eventually retracted over the following days, and only two remain in the country.
Germany calls for a quick end to the war in Iran
"It is essential to work for the war in Iran to end as soon as possible and with a defined plan," a German government spokesman said on Wednesday, as reported by Reuters.
The statements come in a context of increasing tension, as Israeli airstrikes hit central Beirut. The war between the United States and Israel against Iran, which began almost three weeks ago, shows no signs of de-escalation.
United States and Israel attack a gas facility in Iran
An attack carried out on Wednesday by Israel and the United States hit Iranian facilities in a major gas field in the Gulf, causing a fire, as reported by state television and collected by Afp.
"A few moments ago, some parts of the gas facilities" of the South Pars/North Dome field, located in the port city of Kangan, "were hit by projectiles from the American-Zionist enemy," the television quoted the vice-governor of the southern province of Bushehr.
The huge South Pars/North Dome field is the world's largest known gas reserve, shared by Iran and Qatar. It provides around 70% of the natural gas consumed in Iran, which has been exploiting it since the late 1990s.
Romania rules out the danger of an Iranian attack for allowing the US to use its territory for attacks
The Romanian government stated on Wednesday that there is no danger of military attacks by Iran, amid nervousness caused after Tehran criticized Romania for allowing the United States to use its bases on Romanian soil for refueling tasks in its campaign of attacks, reports Efe.
The Romanian Foreign Minister, Oana oiu, stated that the Iranian government only spoke of "political and legal consequences in the future" when it criticized Romania on Monday for allowing the deployment of US troops and equipment on its territory to support air strikes against Tehran. This mainly involves in-flight refueling aircraft.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry described this authorization as "participation in a military aggression" and warned that it will leave "a black mark" on bilateral relations.
Israel says it will bomb the bridges over the Litani River in Lebanon
The Israeli Army announced that it is preparing to bomb the bridges over the Litani River, which connect southern Lebanon with the rest of the country, and reiterated the order for forced displacement of southern Lebanese residents, reports Efe.
"To prevent the passage of reinforcements (from Hezbollah) and combat equipment, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will attack the Litani River crossings starting at noon today," the Army said in a statement in Arabic.
After a night of intense Israeli attacks, which have caused at least 12 deaths and 41 injuries in two apartment buildings in Beirut, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, Israel has threatened with "significant surprises" throughout the day against Iran and Lebanon, according to statements from its Defense Minister.

A NATO Patriot missile battery, sent from Germany, has been deployed in the Turkish province of Adana, where the Incirlik air base is located, joining the one installed by Spain in the same area and another stationed last week in central Anatolia, reports Efe.
This was announced on Wednesday by the Turkish Ministry of Defense, Zeki Aktürk, in a press conference at Incirlik, where he assured that Ankara is in talks with Tehran about the missile allegedly belonging to Iran that entered Turkish airspace on March 13 and was destroyed by the country's air defense systems.
