As reported by the state agency KCNA on Friday, this armored vehicle stands out for integrating an advanced "active protection system" capable of intercepting anti-tank missiles and enemy drones with what the regime describes as "100% effectiveness".

During the joint attack tactical exercises, various units of attack drones struck enemy positions using real-time reconnaissance data, while infantry troops and tank units broke through defensive lines to occupy strategic firing positions. Kim Jong-un, who expressed satisfaction with the results, stated that the new model has no comparison in the world in terms of firepower, mobility, and defensive capabilities. Official images showed the leader and his daughter — speculated to be his successor — aboard one of the tanks during the inspection at the Pyongyang base. The maneuvers also involved a cavalry regiment company and special operations units.

This show of force took place on the same day that the annual Freedom Shield exercises, carried out by the United States and South Korea with the participation of 18,000 troops, concluded. Pyongyang has repeatedly denounced these exercises as invasion rehearsals against its territorial sovereignty. In this tense atmosphere, Kim Yo-jong, the influential sister of the leader, warned that such allied military actions could have "terrible consequences" for the region.

The situation is further complicated by the possible transfer of U.S. Patriot antimissile systems from South Korea to the Middle East in the context of the conflict with Iran. In response, the regime has intensified its tests, including the launch of cruise missiles from a destroyer on March 10 and the use of twelve highly precise multiple rocket launchers just four days later, consolidating a month of intense and challenging military activity.
