Footage from the scene shows flames in a large tank at the refinery, accompanied by a thick column of black smoke. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, preventing major damage. It is not clear at this time whether the fire was caused by a direct missile impact or by fragments following an aerial interception.

The incident holds strategic significance as Israel has only two operational refineries. The incident also coincides with recent Israeli attacks on the South Pars gas field, one of Iran's most important, as well as other petrochemical infrastructures in the country.

Meanwhile, tension has spread across the region. Saudi Arabia intercepted five missiles aimed at its eastern province, while Bahrain activated air alerts. In Dubai, a missile was intercepted mid-flight, causing a large explosion visible in the sky.
