An Airbus 330 plane, bound for the city of Atlanta in the United States, was forced to make an emergency landing a few minutes after takeoff, after one of its engines suffered a dramatic explosion mid-flight.
The incident, which fortunately ended without injuries, was caused by a "mechanical problem" detected in the left engine just a few seconds after the aircraft took off. According to information from sources, the plane has a capacity for approximately 300 passengers, who were direct witnesses of the alarming technical failure. Through various videos recorded by the passengers themselves and quickly shared on social media, a flame and sparks could be seen coming out of one of the wings, while in the background the screams of anguish from those on board could be heard.
The seriousness of the situation was recorded in the audio from the control tower broadcasted by the Aviação Guarulhos JPD portal, where the air traffic controller can be heard clearly warning the pilot: "Delta 104, you have fire on your wing". Faced with this critical alert, the crew immediately activated safety protocols and managed to return to the airport's runway in a matter of minutes. Upon landing, the aircraft was met by a firefighting team to secure the area and prevent any further damage.
After the successful landing, the passengers were evacuated and transported back to the terminal by bus. The airline issued a statement apologizing for the delay and reiterated that customer safety is their priority. Despite the shocking images, the incident ended without casualties.
