Through his social network Truth Social, the president criticized the pontiff's stance on international conflicts such as Iran and Venezuela, urging him to "stop pleasing the radical left."

The statements come after the Pope's calls to stop global violence and opt for dialogue. León XIV recently urged world leaders to end the "display of force" and prioritize mediation, a message interpreted as an indirect criticism of U.S. foreign policy.

Trump also intensified his criticism towards the press, stating that he does not want "a Pope justifying Iran having nuclear weapons" or questioning his government's decisions. He also suggested that the pontiff was chosen due to his American nationality as a strategy to counter his political influence.

The confrontation highlights a growing tension between Washington and the Vatican, marked by deep ideological differences. While the Pope insists on peace and diplomacy, Trump reinforces a more confrontational discourse, fueling a clash that transcends religion and firmly settles in global geopolitics.
