In an interview with the 'Special Report' program on Fox News, he claimed that Iranian negotiators 'leaned towards our position,' although he cautioned that they need approval from other sectors in Tehran. Vance emphasized that President Donald Trump would be willing to normalize relations if Iran adopts standard economic practices. 'There is a great opportunity for an agreement, but it depends on the Iranians taking the next step,' he said.

Meanwhile, Trump refused to apologize to Pope Leo XIV after criticizing his stance against the war with Iran. The president also defended a controversial social media post that has since been deleted. Vance downplayed the controversy and defended Trump's direct communication style, stating that he is not influenced by traditional filters. He also minimized tensions between the White House and the Vatican, describing them as of little relevance at the informational level.
