According to the president, U.S. military forces stopped, attacked, and captured the vessel after attempting to breach the naval blockade imposed on Iranian ports.

The vessel, identified as 'Touska', measures approximately 275 meters in length and is included in the sanctions list of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), under the US Department of the Treasury. Trump stated that the crew did not respond to warnings, leading the destroyer USS Spruance to disable the ship by attacking its engine room.

"Right now, the marines have the vessel under custody," Trump stated on social media, adding that its contents are being investigated.

Following the incident, Iran's joint military command claimed to have responded with drone attacks against US ships in the area, as reported by Reuters. This confrontation escalates tensions in a region crucial for global energy trade.
