On board were 13 people, including the pilot, who experienced a completely unexpected end to their journey.
The hot air balloon, decorated in blue tones with golden stars and a crescent moon, descended in a controlled manner until landing in a small garden only three meters wide at Hunter Perrin's house. The owner explained that he did not realize the landing until a neighbor knocked on his door to inform him of what had happened. "I was watching TV and my wife was doing yoga when a man told me that the balloon had landed in our yard. I didn't understand anything," Perrin told the Associated Press.
The passengers, although surprised, managed to safely disembark and were relieved to have touched the ground. Subsequently, the pilot briefly re-elevated the balloon to relocate it and land it definitively on a nearby street, where it was dismantled. The incident left no injuries and has been described as an unusual but controlled landing, which ended up becoming a curious anecdote for the neighborhood of Temecula.
