With this action, the environmental organization aims to draw attention to the urgency of abandoning fossil fuels and accelerating the transition to renewable energies worldwide.

The protest is part of an international context marked by the climate debate and increasing pressure on governments to adopt more ambitious measures in the face of the environmental crisis. Greenpeace points out that these types of actions seek to highlight the role of political leaders in perpetuating the oil and gas-based energy model.

The mobilization coincides with the lead-up to the first International Conference on transitioning away from fossil fuels, to be held from April 24 to 29 in Santa Marta (Colombia). This meeting will bring together representatives from over 50 governments, including Spain's, with the aim of advancing concrete commitments to reduce dependence on polluting energies.

The action in Madrid reinforces the message of climate urgency on the eve of this key meeting, emphasizing the need to promote sustainable energy policies and accelerate the fight against global climate change.
