The operation, which included the use of a helicopter, was carried out following suspicions that the animal could be linked to the disappearance of a person that occurred the previous week.
According to authorities, the crocodile was located in an area infested with dangerous wildlife, which required deploying a special operation to ensure the safety of the agents. After killing the animal, it was transported by air for analysis. During the inspection, investigators found human remains inside the reptile, reinforcing the hypothesis of a possible deadly attack.
Samples have been sent to a laboratory for DNA tests to identify the victim and confirm if it is the missing person. The case has caused great shock in the region, where attacks by wild animals, although rare, pose a risk in certain areas near rivers and nature reserves.
