What was supposed to be an afternoon of stunts and entertainment turned into a scene of horror when one of the heavy vehicles participating in a show lost control and plowed into the audience, causing a tragedy that has shocked the country and has already claimed a death toll. The incident occurred in the Boulevard Rose area, a well-known recreational zone in the capital of the Cauca department.

At least two people were killed and 37 others injured on Sunday in the Colombian city of Popayán in an accident involving a giant 'Monster Truck' vehicle, whose driver lost control during a show and ran over dozens of people in the audience. Chaos broke out when the driver was performing a stunt. For reasons still under analysis, the driver couldn't maintain the machine's trajectory and "went off track, hitting dozens of spectators before crashing into a pole." More recent reports raise the death toll, stating that "at least three people, including a minor, have died in a Monster Truck show in Colombia."

The scene at the accident site was filled with genuine "scenes of panic" as attendees tried to assist the injured before emergency services arrived. Local authorities have confirmed that among the deceased is a child who lost their life at the impact site. Another victim died shortly after being transported to the Susana López de Valencia hospital. Given the magnitude of the incident, the governor of Cauca, Octavio Guzmán, expressed his sorrow through his official social media: "We deeply regret the accident that occurred this Sunday afternoon in the Boulevard Rose area, which has preliminarily left 37 people injured and at least two deceased."
