Donald Trump said this Wednesday that he believes the war in the Middle East "will end quickly," while Iranian authorities analyze a peace proposal presented by Washington.

"They want to reach an agreement. We have had very positive discussions in the last 24 hours, and it is very possible that we will achieve it," stated the President of the United States in the Oval Office.

The draft agreement would consist of a one-page memorandum aimed at officially ending the conflict and initiating broader negotiations on various pending issues. These include the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, the lifting of US sanctions, and possible limits on the Iranian nuclear program.

In Tehran, the reaction was more cautious. A spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the government is reviewing the US proposal and described the plan as "more of a US wish list than a realistic proposal."
