Donald Trump stated on Monday that the ceasefire with Iran is in an "intensive care" situation after rejecting the latest proposal sent by Tehran, considering it does not include sufficient concessions regarding its nuclear program

The president's statements escalate diplomatic tension between both countries amid international negotiations. During a press conference in the Oval Office, Trump described the Iranian document as "incredibly weak" and stated it was "the worst proposal" he had recently read. "I didn't even finish reading it," said the U.S. president, expressing his discontent with Iran's stance in the discussions.

According to Trump, Iran initially informed Washington that it would allow the entry of American inspectors and experts to assist in extracting its highly enriched uranium, but later retracted that possibility in the new proposal presented. The president emphasized that the United States demands guarantees that Tehran will not develop nuclear weapons "for a long time." Meanwhile, Iran maintains that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes and has not publicly agreed to relinquish its enriched uranium, a key point of contention with Washington.
