The Russian leader stated that it is the "most powerful missile in the world" and highlighted its ability to reach targets thousands of kilometers away in the United States and Europe.

The Sarmat missile, considered one of the key weapons in the Russian nuclear arsenal, has been designed to carry multiple nuclear warheads and overcome Western anti-missile defense systems. Moscow argues that this new strategic system represents a significant military advancement amid international tensions with NATO and Western countries.

Putin stated that the development of Sarmat strengthens Russia's security against external threats and warned that the country will continue to modernize its military capabilities. The announcement comes at a time marked by the war in Ukraine and increasing geopolitical tensions between Russia, the United States, and Europe.

The deployment of the Sarmat missile marks a new step in the global arms race and has raised concerns in the international community about the increased nuclear risk.
