Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, secretly visited United Arab Emirates during the war between Israel and the United States against Iran, further strengthening ties with a nation with which relations were normalized just in 2020, as reported by his office on Wednesday. The UAE denied any secret visit had taken place.

Netanyahu met with the Emirati President, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, resulting in a historic advancement in the relations between Israel and the UAE, according to the statement.

The official Emirati news agency, WAM, denied in an article the information about Netanyahu's visit. According to the agency, the country's relations with Israel "are public and conducted within the framework of the well-known and officially declared Abraham Accords, not based on non-transparent or unofficial arrangements." The report also denied that any Israeli military delegation had been received in the UAE.

Israel's announcement comes just a day after the US Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, revealed that Israel had sent anti-aircraft weapons from the Iron Dome to the UAE, along with personnel to operate them.
