During her morning press conference in Mexico City, Sheinbaum affirmed that Mexico has "no problem" in accommodating the Iranian team while they play their group stage matches in US territory. She explained that FIFA consulted the Mexican government due to the restrictions imposed by the United States regarding the stay of the Asian team.

The president mentioned that the Iranian team is considering settling in Tijuana, a border city near California, to train and then travel to the matches scheduled in the United States. Initially, Iran had planned to concentrate in Tucson, but conflicts in the Middle East and security concerns led to a change of plans.

The Iranian team will play their Group G matches against New Zealand, Belgium, and Egypt in venues like Inglewood and Seattle.

Sheinbaum also addressed possible health measures for the participating delegations, especially following concerns related to outbreaks of contagious diseases in some countries qualified for the tournament.
