The massive bombing took place during the night and also affected other strategic cities in the country.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russian troops used 73 missiles of different types, including 33 ballistic missiles, in addition to 656 long-range drones. The anti-aircraft defenses managed to intercept 40 missiles and over 600 drones, although dozens of projectiles hit various targets in at least 38 locations in Ukrainian territory.

Among the areas attacked are Kiev, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, Poltava, and Dnipro. In the capital, several residential buildings suffered severe damage. A 24-story apartment block partially collapsed after the impact of a presumed missile, while other buildings were engulfed in flames. Authorities fear that there may still be people trapped under the rubble.

Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the operation was aimed at alleged decision-making centers of the Ukrainian government. In Dnipro, regional authorities raised the death toll to six and confirmed over twenty hospitalized after the attacks.
