The incident occurred just days after the airport's reopening, which had been closed for months due to the regional conflict that began on February 28.

According to the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense, several drones directly impacted the airport facilities. Authorities released security footage showing the exact moment when an unmanned aircraft crashed into the terminal. The United States labeled the attack as a "deliberate and calculated" action, while Iran denied any responsibility and claimed that the damage was caused by a U.S. interceptor missile.

Authorities confirmed the death of an Indian citizen and reported 63 injuries among passengers and workers. Additionally, Kuwait's air defenses intercepted several missiles and drones originating from Iranian territory.

The attack comes amid negotiations to maintain a fragile ceasefire between Iran and the United States, as military escalation in Lebanon and tensions in the Strait of Hormuz continue to raise uncertainty in the Middle East and global energy markets.
