The war in the Middle East shows no signs of stopping and is at risk of escalating. At least nine people have died and 29 others have been injured in an Israeli attack on a residential neighborhood in the historic city of Tyre, located in southern Lebanon. The Israeli army issued an evacuation order this morning for various areas, including the Christian area, and warned that it would attack "soon," something that has not happened yet.

Once again, Donald Trump has insisted that there is "a good possibility" of signing a pact in "two or three days."

The US military has been affected by an incident in the last hours. A Navy drone located and rescued the two crew members of a US Army Apache attack helicopter that crashed in waters near the coast of Oman for reasons under investigation. The rescued individuals are in stable condition.

France bans entry of Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich into its territory

The French government announced on Tuesday that it is banning the entry of the Israeli Finance Minister, the ultranationalist Bezalel Smotrich, accusing him of actively promoting "the annexation of the West Bank," as well as "the creation of new settlements."

In a message on 'X', the Foreign Minister, Jean-Noël Barrot, stated that this measure is part of a new package of sanctions against settlers in the West Bank also supported by the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Norway. Ireland had already announced last Friday the ban on the entry of Smotrich - leader of Religious Zionism - but also of the Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir.

New details on the rescue of occupants of a US helicopter in Ormuz

For the first time, a US Navy drone located and rescued two crew members of a US Army Apache attack helicopter that crashed in waters near the coast of Oman, according to the US military to Reuters. President Donald Trump stated that the pilots were "fine."

The US Central Command indicated that the AH-64 Apache crashed around 3:00 a.m. local time on Tuesday near the coast of Oman while patrolling regional waters. It did not provide a reason for the accident. It added that the rescue was carried out by a drone, but did not specify the model.

The US 5th Fleet's Task Force 59, operating in the region, is a unit dedicated to integrating unmanned systems and artificial intelligence into daily maritime operations. Although Trump stated at John F. Kennedy International Airport before returning to Washington that "there were no injuries," the Central Command used a more cautious language to describe the status of the two, stating that they were in stable condition. "The soldiers were rescued safe and sound in about two hours and are in stable condition. The cause of the incident is under investigation," it said in a statement.

Threat to the Christian neighborhood of Tyre

The National News Agency (NNA) reported that the death toll rose to nine and the number of injured to 29 from Israeli airstrikes on the Al Masaken al Shaabiya neighborhood, a densely populated residential area on the outskirts of Tyre. The airstrikes also caused damage to businesses.

Hours earlier, the Israeli Army had issued an evacuation order for various areas of the city of Tyre, including the Christian neighborhood of the coastal city and warned that it would attack "soon," although it has not happened yet.

"We have already warned that Hezbollah terrorists operate in the Christian neighborhood of the city. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) plan to act against Hezbollah's terrorist activity in that neighborhood soon," said the Arabic spokesperson for the Israeli armed forces, Avichai Adraee, in a statement.

Last week, Israel accused the Lebanese Shiite group of taking refuge in the Christian neighborhood, but it is the first time they have issued a forced evacuation order against it. Meanwhile, bombings have continued in the southern districts of Nabatieh and Sidon, causing deaths and injuries, as reported by the state news agency.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah also claimed responsibility on Tuesday for several actions with drones or projectiles against Israeli troops invading southern Lebanon. Efe reports.
