Upon arriving last to a working session dedicated to international development, the president briefly stopped in front of the table where the other heads of state and government were already seated to make a strong statement: "I am the boss" (or "C'est moi le patron"), before taking his seat with a broad smile. Far from causing a diplomatic conflict, the declaration sparked laughter among the present leaders, at which point Trump took the opportunity to shake hands with French President Emmanuel Macron.

Despite his historical reluctance towards multilateral forums, Trump surprisingly showed accommodation during the days in France, although he couldn't help but complain about the "excessive heat" in the meeting room due to his preference for maximum air conditioning. This constructive attitude led the American president to agree to ratify a joint statement on Ukraine, a gesture uncommon compared to his tendency to reject common communiqués shown during his first term. In this document, the G7 countries committed to increase pressure on the Russian economy through sanctions on their hydrocarbon exports and to strengthen Ukrainian air defense and long-range capabilities.

Beyond the anecdote, the leaders focused their discussions on global economic imbalances, trade tensions, and rising energy costs. The summit also included the presence of partner countries such as India, South Korea, and Kenya, with whom common challenges such as sustainable development and reforms of international financial institutions were discussed. One of the highlights for the president was the mention in the final statement of the agreement between the United States and Iran, emphasizing that it was achieved under his "strong leadership". As a final touch to his stay, Trump agreed to extend his trip to enjoy a gala dinner with Macron at the Palace of Versailles, a luxurious setting in line with his personal tastes.
