The arrest, carried out on June 17th, occurred after receiving information indicating that the suspect was storing human body parts both in his home and at his workplace. According to a police statement issued on Tuesday, the detainee worked as a hospital orderly, a position that would have facilitated access to some of the seized material.

During the home search, the officers seized a disturbing collection of remains: skulls, a hand, a calf with a foot, and a facial reconstruction made with human skin. Additionally, additional bones were found stored in a suitcase and a heart preserved in a jar, whose nature —human or animal— is pending forensic confirmation.

During the interrogation, the suspect admitted his responsibility and confessed a "passion" for anatomy, pathology, and animal dissection. However, the most alarming detail of his confession was the admission of cannibalistic practices; the man stated that he was attracted to human body parts and had even cooked and consumed some of them. The investigation suggests that the detainee obtained the remains not only from his workplace but also by digging up corpses in abandoned cemeteries in Hungary and Slovakia.

Currently, the man remains in police custody under suspicion of illegal use of human bodies. Authorities have confiscated numerous electronic devices, including laptops, tablets, and mobile phones, for thorough analysis. It is expected that all recovered remains will undergo rigorous examination by forensic experts. The police have warned that the seriousness of the alleged crimes committed could worsen and expand as the exact origin of each of the evidence found in his possession is clarified.
