A tragedy that occurred during the earthquakes that shook Venezuela has moved thousands of people. Andrea, the wife of footballer Héctor 'Kike' Bello, lost her life while protecting her young daughter in the midst of the collapse caused by the earthquake.
The one-year-old child managed to survive thanks to the bravery of her mother. It was Héctor Bello himself who shared the painful news through his social media with an emotional message dedicated to his wife.
"Someday I will tell her how you gave your life to save our daughter. I will tell her how brave you were and that you never abandoned her, not even in your final moments," wrote the footballer, reflecting the deep pain he is going through.
Upon learning of what happened, Bello traveled to Caracas to reunite with his daughter, who remains hospitalized with a relative. As he explained, both are out of danger and continue under medical observation.
In another post, the athlete expressed the anguish he feels when thinking about the future: "How will I explain to our daughter that you gave your life to save hers and that I was not there to do anything? Give me strength to face that moment."
The news was also confirmed by Venezuelan media and football-related organizations, who mourned the death of Andrea and sent their condolences to the Bello family.
Meanwhile, rescue teams continue to work among the rubble in the areas affected by the earthquakes, a tragedy that has left hundreds dead, thousands injured, and numerous people missing. Among the victims are also other members of the Venezuelan football community.
Andrea's story has touched the entire country and has become a symbol of a mother's love and sacrifice, who, in her final moments, did everything possible to protect her daughter's life.
