According to the provisional balance issued by the Ukrainian Emergency Service, at least 13 people have lost their lives and over thirty have been injured in this massive bombardment. The city's mayor, Vitali Klitschko, reported that the number of hospitalized individuals has risen to 70, with damages to residential buildings and civilian infrastructure spread across five districts of the capital.

The assault was carried out through several coordinated rounds of drones and missiles that caused constant explosions throughout the city, resulting from both direct impacts and interceptions by air defenses. The Ukrainian Air Force detailed that a total of 496 drones and 74 missiles were involved in the operation, including 24 ballistic projectiles. This massive deployment confirms the suspicions of international observers, who had warned of an unusual decrease in Russian activity in the days leading up to the attack, interpreting it as a period of armament accumulation for this major offensive.

President Volodymyr Zelensky had already alerted the population to the imminent massive attack, urging citizens to seek immediate shelter upon hearing the alarms. However, the Russian Ministry of Defense justified the operation by claiming to have targeted key points of the military-industrial complex, such as the Radioniks plant dedicated to navigation systems for Neptune-MD and Project Clone missiles, and the historic aircraft factory Antonov.

Additionally, Moscow reported damages to the ATLON AVIA plant, producer of Magura UA assault drones, and to logistical centers like MLP-Chaika, used to store military equipment from abroad. The attack also hit the Kiev-3 fuel base and gas pumping stations. Russia maintains that these actions directly diminish the operational capacity of the Ukrainian Air Force, although the devastation in residential areas of Kiev highlights the high civilian cost of the day.
