A former military man from the United States Army named Bart DiGuglielmo, from New Jersey, was killed last Tuesday after a dispute with a woman over a parking space at a shopping center in Florida.
According to the Broward County Sheriff's Office, the former Army sergeant died in front of a Walmart supermarket in North Lauderdale, Florida, after being shot at 12:30noon.
Both individuals had a heated argument in the parking lot over who was occupying the parking space. However, the woman claimed she shot the man in self-defense after he approached her several times.
A video shared on social media shows them engaging in a verbal confrontation where DiGuglielmo makes gestures with his arms and repeatedly approaches the woman. At a moment when he appears to be going towards her, she points the gun at him and fires a shot that ended his life shortly after at the hospital.
Authorities have not disclosed the woman's name. Meanwhile, DiGuglielmo's relatives have expressed on social media that he was "a Christian man and a very good person," concluding that he "would never harm anyone."
