On July 27th, a family in Florida (USA) received the tragic news of the death of their three-year-old daughter Briella at the hospital. Four days earlier, the little girl had been found at her babysitter's house with her head trapped in a toy kitchen.
The tragedy occurred on July 23rd, while Briella and her brother were playing at the house. At one point, the babysitter had to leave and left the children under the supervision of her spouse, who remained upstairs while the children played downstairs, coming down periodically to check on them and feed them. However, during one of these check-ins, he found the girl stuck in the toy structure.
The man immediately rescued her and started resuscitation maneuvers until the emergency services arrived. As later stated by the brother, the girl had dropped some toys inside the play kitchen and tried to retrieve them, getting trapped in the process.
As reported by the Boynton Beach Police in a statement, officers responded to the home shortly after 11:00 a.m. upon receiving the distress call. The girl was transported to the hospital in critical condition and sadly passed away after four days of being hospitalized.
The coroner stated to Daily Mail that it was an accidental death and possibly due to "positional asphyxia" while trying to retrieve the toys from inside the kitchen.
