The incident, which occurred while the medical team was carrying out an evacuation, was captured in images released by the medical organization itself. According to the Red Crescent, the settlers blocked and attacked the vehicle, which was on a humanitarian mission.
The organization denounced the attack and warned that obstructing the work of medical teams constitutes a violation of international humanitarian law. It also noted that the incident took place in the presence of Israeli soldiers.
The aggression once again highlights the situation in Tel Rumeida, one of the most sensitive areas in Hebron, where movement restrictions and episodes of violence have hindered the access of emergency services to the Palestinian population for years. International organizations have previously documented incidents where ambulances were blocked or attacked by settlers in this area.
The episode adds tension to a situation already marked by violence in the West Bank, as reports continue to emerge of attacks against civilians and humanitarian workers.
The images of the ambulance attack have started to circulate widely, once again placing the protection of medical services at the center of the debate on the conflict.
