During a press conference, Ford hurled several insults at the U.S. President, calling him a "dictator", "loser", "king of bankruptcies", and "schoolyard bully who steals your lunch money".

These statements come amidst tensions between both countries due to Trump's intention to impose heavy tariffs on Canadian products. The U.S. President's trade policy has triggered a growing response from Canadian authorities.

When asked by journalists if the Canadian Prime Minister had asked him to moderate his statements, Ford replied negatively. Far from toning down his rhetoric, he reiterated his strong message against Trump: "He can kiss my ass".

The verbal dispute reflects the deteriorating commercial relations between Canada and the United States, two countries with a close economic relationship and significant mutual dependence in trade matters.

Ford's statements thus add a new chapter to the escalating political tension caused by Trump's tariffs and trade threats.
