Covarrubias (Burgos)

Calling all Western fans. While the Tabernas Desert in Almería is arguably the genre's reigning star (hosting films like *Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade*, *Lawrence of Arabia*, and *Conan the Barbarian*), this town in the province of Burgos is world-renowned as the setting for *The Good, the Bad and the Ugly* (1966). Today, a dedicated route allows visitors to explore the film's key locations--ranging from the Arlanza Valley, where the Battle of Langstone Bridge was staged, to the ruins of the San Pedro de Arlanza Monastery, which served as the interior for the San Antonio Mission. However, the highlight of the tour is the Sad Hill Cemetery, located between Contreras and Santo Domingo de Silos, where the unforgettable final three-way duel was filmed. MUNICIPALITIES
