What do *¡Bienvenido, Mr. Marshall!* (1953), *Gran Hermano*...

Guadalix de la Sierra (Madrid)

What do *¡Bienvenido, Mr. Marshall!* (1953), *Gran Hermano* (2001-2025), and *Águila Roja* have in common? Indeed: the film, the reality show, and the series were all shot in this municipality in Madrid's Sierra Norte. Guadalix de la Sierra perfectly embodies the spirit of the "Red de Pueblos de Película" (Film Towns Network) because, rather than being merely a set for productions large and small, it is a place that has woven cinema and television into its very identity. Berlanga's legacy remains very much alive in Guadalix; a testament to this is the Town Hall balcony--from which Pepe Isbert delivered one of the most famous speeches in the history of Spanish cinema--which has since become a true symbol of the town.
